Microsoft Fabric, designed around OneLake.

Fabric puts data integration, engineering, warehousing, data science and Power BI on one platform with one copy of the data. We help you plan it, build it and run it, starting with a free workshop.

What Microsoft Fabric is.

See detail 2/A-101 Lakehouse

Microsoft Fabric is Microsoft’s analytics platform, delivered as a single service. Instead of stitching together separate products for ingestion, storage, transformation and reporting, every Fabric workload stands on the same foundation: OneLake, one logical data lake for the whole organization.

That changes how a data platform works day to day. Data lands once and every engine reads the same copy. Security is defined in one place. Compute is serverless capacity sized to the work, rather than clusters someone has to keep running.

For organizations already on Azure, SQL Server or Power BI, Fabric is often the natural next step. The hard part is not switching it on. It is deciding what moves, in what order, and how it is governed once it gets there.

What we do on Fabric.

Four services, usually combined in one engagement.

  • Data integration

Pipelines and dataflows that bring your source systems into OneLake on schedule, from on-premises SQL Server to cloud applications and files, built so a failed load is visible and recoverable.

  • AI

Useful AI starts with governed, well-described data. We prepare the models and permissions that features such as Copilot in Power BI depend on, so its answers come from data you trust.

  • Power BI

Semantic models and reports built directly on OneLake, so the number in a dashboard is the number in the lakehouse, with no separate copy to reconcile.

  • Data science

Notebooks and machine learning on the same governed data your analysts use, so an experiment can move into production without being rebuilt.

The features we design around.

  • OneLake

One data lake for the whole tenant. We design the workspaces and lakehouses so teams share data by reference instead of copying it.

  • OneLake security

Access rules defined once at the data layer and respected by every engine. We map your roles and your sensitive data to them before production data arrives.

  • Serverless compute

Capacity that scales with the workload. We size it against real usage and set up monitoring, so cost follows value rather than surprise.

How to get started.

  1. The free workshop

A 30-minute to 1-hour virtual session with a Fabric expert: your infrastructure, challenges and goals, mapped to the Fabric components that fit.

  2. Architecture and plan

A target design for OneLake, workspaces, security and capacity, with a migration order that delivers value early.

  3. Build and hand over

We build the first workloads alongside your team, document them, and train the people who will run the platform.

Fabric is new. The stack under it is not.

Key2 has worked on the Microsoft data platform since 2008: SQL Server, Analysis Services, Integration Services and Reporting Services, then Azure and Power BI. We led one of the largest Azure deployments in the country for a healthcare organization and built Power BI dashboards used by thousands of people.

That history matters on Fabric, because most Fabric projects are migrations. Knowing how the old warehouse and the old reports were built is what makes the move safe.
